Hilton New Orleans Riverside Hotel

The Hilton New Orleans Riverside is approximately 13 miles from Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY). Although the hotel does not provide airport shuttles, the following transportation options are available:

Airport Shuttle

*Cost: $20 one way or $35 roundtrip per person
Shuttles operate daily from 7 a.m. until the last flight arrives (for arrivals). For departures, shuttles begin pick-ups at 3 a.m. daily. Travel time is 45 minutes, including drop-offs and pick-ups.

Reservations must be made online and at least 24 hours prior to your flight arrival time to receive this discounted round-trip rate.

This discount is valid March 30-April 17, 2016 to and from MSY and the Hilton New Orleans Riverside.

To receive these special WBC rates, please reserve by booking online beginning in March 2015.

Taxi Service

A cab ride costs US $33* from the airport to the Central Business District (CBD) for one or two persons and $14 (per passenger) for three or more passengers. Pick-up is on the lower level, outside the baggage claim area. There may be an additional charge for extra baggage. Taxis are required to offer a credit card payment option.

Limousine Service

Airport Limousine is the official limousine service for Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. Convenient kiosks are located in the baggage claim area and no-hassle curbside pick-ups are available.

Rates begin at US $58* for one or two passengers. Visit their website for more information and to make reservations.

Rental Cars

There are nine rental agencies with offices on the lower level of the airport. Check with each company for rates. Click here for more information regarding rental cars.

Public Transportation

The Airport-Downtown Express (E-2) Bus picks up outside airport Entrance #7 on the upper level. The fare for Airport-Downtown Express (E-2) is US $2*. The fare boxes will accept $1, $5, $10, $20 dollar bills and all U.S. coins. The Airport-Downtown Express (E-2) provides service from the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport in Kenner, down Airline Drive into New Orleans, which takes approximately 50 minutes. The Airport bus stop is on the second level of the Airport in the outer lanes at Door 7.

Standard parking in the hotel parking garage is $25* per day (with in and out privileges) for delegates staying at the host hotel. Valet parking is also available at both day and overnight rates. Self-pay parking is also available on the streets surrounding the hotel.

New Orleans has a subtropical climate with pleasant year-round temperatures. Temperatures range from the mid 40s in winter to the upper 90s in the summer. Rainfall is common in New Orleans, with a monthly average of about five inches of precipitation. In early-April, New Orleans-area temperatures range from 59F/15C to 79F/26.1C.

The Hilton New Orleans Riverside has a full-service business center (located in the second floor lobby), as well as complimentary Internet access in the hotel lobby, River Blends Café, and all guest rooms for your convenience. Typical hours for the business center are listed below, however hours are subject to change. If the business center is closed, please see the front desk for any administrative needs.

Children under the age of 10 will not be allowed in any WBC classes, workshops, or events.

The World Balloon Convention is a convention produced by and for professionals, and we ask that all attendees respect this. Children aged 10 and older who legally work in a parent-operated business can register and attend the WBC 2016 as Full-Package Delegates, so long as a parent is also attending as a Full-Package Delegate. Children aged 10 and older who are attending WBC 2016 must be under the supervision of an adult who is also a Full-Package Delegate.

Note: The WBC reserves the right to refuse admission to any area of the convention at its discretion, including classes, events, and/or competitions.
